Beccles Public Hall

February Newsletter 2020

Welcome to February’s newsletter as we take a whistlestop tour through this month’s highlights.

We have some great music for you this month.

There are still a few tickets left for “ABBA: The Story” on 1 February. It’s going to be a real treat for all ABBA fans out there so don’t miss it.

And don’t forget the talented and witty Ian Sainsbury eases us into the weekend with his popup pianobar on 7 February.

great music

If you loved to head bang to all those amazing Quo hits back in the day, and who didn’t, you will love Counterfeit Quo who are blasting on to the stage on 8 February. Celebrating their 25th year, they will be providing us with an adrenaline fuelled performance of Quo’s top ten hits.

CQ really are the crème de la crème of tribute bands having worked with the original Quo drummer John Coghlan and been given the seal of approval from no less than  Francis Rossi and the late, great, Rick Parfitt. You’ll be Rockin’ all over the Hall.

If you’re a piano fan then you must join us for Peter Gill’s Tribute to Rock and Pop’s Piano Legends on 22 February. Enjoy playing at its finest as Peter, one of the UK’s top piano/vocalists, and his band take you on a tour of the hits of rock and pop’s greatest piano legends including Jerry Lee Lewis, Ray Charles, Little Richard, Georgie Fame, Elton John, Dr John, Professor Longhair and Stevie Wonder. You name them, Peter will be playing them. From Great Balls of Fire to Nutrocker, From Piano Man to What I’d Say, this is going to be an extraordinary night of piano pumping Rock n Roll, Boogie Woogie, Country, Pop, Rock and Rhythm and Blues performed in Peter’s own, inimitable style.

great music

Want to dance the night away to some fabulous Northern Soul, Tamla Motown and uptempo Soul classics? Then this is definitely one for your diary – Soul Galore – Soul Night at the Hall on Saturday 29 February. Join the great Garry Emms (Resident/Smart Radio GY) and Soul Brothers, Kevin and Graham Burrell (Downtown Soul Club) for a fun night and some fabulous music.

And if music isn’t your tipple how about bingo? We’re very excited to invite you to our first ever Bingo at the Hall on 15 February. Cash prizes will be won so it’s definitely not to be missed. And don’t forget the wrestling. The Knight family are back for a Friday evening of WAW Wrestling for all the family, a must see for all the wrestling fans out there.

And finally a quick word about some staff changes at the Hall. A big welcome to Gillian Walker who is taking over from Lesley Cox as Events Coordinator this month and John Gallagher who is going to be responsible for our digital marketing and IT. They both have loads of great ideas so it’s going to be a very exciting year ahead at the Hall. Just watch this space.
