BIG DANCE 2012

Summer at The Forum
You dancin’? You askin’?

Grab your dancing shoes and come on down to The Forum, in Norwich, to take part in Big Dance 2012 – we’re all joining in the biggest ever nationwide celebration of dance.
Big Dance 2012 events at The Forum run from Mon 2 to Sat 14 July and include FREE outdoor performances, FREE retro tea dances, FREE rock n roll classes… and much more.

Wander around a stunning exhibition of dance photography by dancer and choreographer Tim Cross, plus costumes and archive footage from the Royal Ballet School and The Royal Opera House.
Big Dance 2012 at The Forum coincides with the Olympic Torch Relay arriving in Norwich – there are so many reasons to come into Norwich to enjoy the 2012 celebrations.
The Forum’s been working closely with Norwich City CouncilNorfolk Dance and Bo Nanafana – we’re all doing our bit to make the city’s Olympic summer as memorable as possible.
Watch the Torch Relay at The Forum
On the afternoon of Wed 4 July the Olympic Torch Relay and all of its colourful, theatrical razamattaz, makes its way through Norwich.
Those who can’t get into Chapelfield Gardens to see the Olympic Stage Show will be able to watch it live on a cinema screen on Millennium Plain, outside The Forum, from noon onwards.
That evening, at 8pm, Norfolk Dance is using the screen to show the classic dance movie An American In Paris. Bring a blanket, sit on the steps and enjoy!

On the afternoons of Thu 5 and Fri 6 July the outdoor entertainment continues at The Forum as Norfolk Dance and
Bo Nanafana present a dazzling programme of events.
Everything’s FREE and anyone can join in!
Lunchtime ‘Dance Bites’ talks
The exhibition at The Forum is also a learning opportunity for those really into their dance and for those who are inspired by Big Dance 2012.
Dance Bites are lunchtime talks hosted by artists and experts. Dates, times and booking info on line. Don’t miss out!

The fortnight of dance marks the start of Summer at The Forum – a ten week programme of FREE events, exhibitions and activities which continues until the end of the Paralympics.
