Norwich Festival
‘Voted Out’ by Mark Grist and Tim Clare

Following the recent announcement of the Norfolk and Norwich Festival 2018 line-up, Creative Arts East are delighted to announce that they will be showcasing exciting new work by some of the UK’s top performance poets at this year’s festival, alongside a tour of rural pubs this Spring with the INN CROWD project.

The INN CROWD project, run in East Anglia by delivery partners Creative Arts East and Writers’ Centre Norwich, has awarded several spoken-word artists special development funding to tailor their work to pub settings and audiences. First glimpse of these shows can be seen at various local pubs during March and April, and some of artists will be showcasing their work at the internationally renowned Norfolk and Norwich Festival and Brighton Fringe Festival in May.

Artists showcasing at the Norfolk and Norwich Festival include contemporary spoken-word artist Rosy Carrick, Proteus Theatre company, and popular performance poets Mark Grist and Tim Clare. Critically acclaimed local wordsmith Luke Wright will also be touring to rural pubs with the project, and will appear as part of an exclusive INN CROWD showcase at Brighton Fringe in May.

Award-winning poet Byron Vincent is INN CROWD’s first writer-in-residence, and has been commissioned to create a piece of live literature specifically for pub audiences. He will be performing a scratch of this brand-new show ‘Instagramming the Apocalypse’ at both the Norfolk and Norwich Festival and the Brighton Fringe showcases, before an INN CROWD tour in the Autumn.

There are plenty more INN CROWD performances coming up, so if you fancy a bit of poetry with your pint, head to www.inncrowd.org.uk for more info.
