Skiphire will bring a ceilidh to Beccles Public Hall.

Beccles theatre goers can look forward to a month of huge variety thanks to the latest shows booked at the town’s Public Hall.

Films, music, dancing, a quiz and even a murder mystery are part of the packed line-up for September.

It kicks off on Sunday when Norfolk personality Keith Skipper will return to the hall for an afternoon mardle, full of squit and wit. His tales are guaranteed to make audiences laugh and think at the same time.

Those who like solving a mystery will enjoy Bungay Theatre Group’s Murder Mystery Supper – Murder at Danville Abbey on Saturday, September 14.

Lord Danville is dead, but who killed him? Examine the evidence, question the suspects and unmask the killer. Tickets are £14.50 and include a glass of Bucks Fizz on arrival and a two course supper.

The Favourite, starring Norwich alumni Olivia Colman is at the theatre on Thursday, September 19 from 2pm. Tickets are £5 for the film, which sees a charming new servant set up a rivalry for Queen Anne’s affections.

The second film of the month is on the evening of Friday, September 27, as A Star is Born is screened. A musician helps a young singer, played by Lady Gaga, find fame as age and alcoholism send his own career completely off track.

For quiz lovers there’s a chance to test your knowledge on Friday, September 20. Teams of up to six people are invited to take part in the entertaining and competitive evening, which starts at 8pm. 

Songbird, The Music of Fleetwood Mac, will take to the stage on Saturday, September 21, while its time for a jig and a reel during Celildh @ The Hall on Saturday, September 28, hosted by popular band Skiphire.

Simply Swing Story is the final fundraising show of the month. The show includes the music and footage of Peggy Lee and Bobby Darin, amongst others, performed by a 10-piece show band and three vocalists.
