THE CLAN (15).

Director Pablo Trapero.  Argentina 2015.  110 minutes.  In Spanish with English subtitles.

Starring: Guillermo Francella, Peter Lanzani, Lili Popovich and Gaston Cocchiarale.

This disturbing Argentinian crime drama charts the true story of the Puccio clan.  Set in a middle-class suburb of Buenos Aires in the early 80s, the film contrasts the apparent respectability of the family’s daily life with their appalling crimes behind closed doors.  An accomplished but grisly thriller which is not for the faint-hearted.

‘A swaggering, black-hearted true-crime saga worthy of Scorsese.’  The Telegraph.

‘Trapero lands a sledgehammer punch with this terrifically well-made movie.’  Peter Bradshaw in the Guardian.
