‘Bungay Lions Savoury Bake Off’


November 12th 2016 sees the start of another brand new event from the Bungay Area Lions Club taking place at the Royal British Legion Club in Priory Lane, Bungay between 11.00am and 2.00pm.

This a dual event and an opportunity for both the avid amateur baker, and professional business to show their skills in the kitchen and be sampled by the public.

The amateurs will provide tasters of their products in a competition of eight savoury categories and also provide a raffle prize of their goods at the end of the event. Their goods will be judged by local dignitaries and certificates will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, winners of each category.

The professionals will be local businesses and shops from the area and will produce tasters of their goods from the same eight categories and also have the opportunity to give away discount vouchers or sell their goods. They too will provide some of their food for the raffle prize at the end of the event.

Entrance to the event will be via a raffle ticket (adults £2 and children £1 (Children 12 and under) purchased on the door. Entrants will then be able to sample free any of the tasters on offer. Their ticket will then double up as an entry into the raffle event to win a prize. Profits from this event will be donated to the Falcon Meadow Community Trust in Bungay for all to benefit from.

The eight categories are; – Sausage rolls, Pies and Pasties, Savoury Scones, Pizza, Quiche, Cheese Straws, Bread Products and Wild Card (for any other type of savoury not in the other categories).
