The Maltings Meadow Sports Ground will host a stream of community events this summer including:
5-a-side competitions,
veteran car rallies
soccer coaching schools
but this year’s special event the ‘jewel in the crown’, will be the inaugural
Summer Fete on Sunday 24th June.
Our theme is ‘Old Time Fair’, with games of skill and chance for kids of all ages.
A coconut shy, spin the wheel, hook a duck, hoopla, bowl for a pig, splat the rat, shove ha’penny, target golf, beat the ‘keeper, apple bobbing and a ducking stool, with local celebrities each taking a turn, will all be available for you to try your luck.
There will be ice cream and sweet stalls, candy floss and a barbecue, balloons and face painting, Punch and Judy, gymnastics and martial arts displays, gentle music to sooth the troubled brow and a licensed bar to sooth a drying throat.
If you belong to a group that needs to raise money, or if your child belongs to such a community group, then book a stall.
There will be no charge and you keep all the money you take, so come along and help us make Sunday 24th June a day to remember.
