After the great success and fun of the previous Silent Film day at Beccles Public Hall in January this year, the Hall team decided to offer the event again with four different films – one show in the evening and one in the afternoon.

The Classic Buster Keaton Film @ the Hall day is set for Thursday 14 December at 2pm and 7.30pm – doors open half an hour before each event begins.

Four classic Buster Keaton films will be screened whilst local pianist and choir leader, Ian Sainsbury accompanies them on the Hall’s Steinway piano. “It is our privilege to have Ian accompany these films in his own inimitable fashion  – we are so fortunate!” said Sue Bergin, Hall Director.

The four shorts to be shown at each performance will be:

One Week

The Playhouse

The Haunted House

Cops

Buster Keaton, known as The Great Stoneface, because of his stoic deadpan expression was highly honoured by the American Film Institute when they ranked him the 21st greatest male star of classic Hollywood cinema. For both lovers of these fabulous films and those unfamiliar with the art of Buster Keaton, don’t miss this rare opportunity.

The bar will be open for drinks and cakes and hot drinks will be sold in the interval.

Tickets are £5 for adults and £4 for Concessions and under 16s.
