The life and work of Yusef – Cat Stevens, will be depicted by singer and guitarist Keith James on Sunday, May 5, while Robert Habermann will bring his Royal Albert Hall show Mad About Movies to the Hall on Saturday, May 11, telling the enchanting story of the Hollywood musicals.

Keith specialises in performing biographically styled concerts in an intimate atmosphere.

His show will detail Cat Stevens’ life from the early breakthrough to his life-changing accident and later spiritual journey around performances of his most famous songs, such as Father and Son and Wild World.

Keith will explain the background of each song, some of which will be performed in the same way as many fans will remember, while others will be re-interpreted with a more personal vocal approach.

Proceeds and audience donations from Keith’s UK tour will go to the UNICEF UK Syrian Children’s Appeal.

His concert will be followed in just a few days by the arrival of award-winning singer Robert Habermann, who will sing some of the silver screen’s top songs of all time in Mad About Movies.

He will perform hits from iconic films Singin’ in the Rain and Top Hat, as well as songs from movies starring Frank Sinatra and Doris Day.

Robert’s career spans several decades. He trained in America and honed his craft by working with the likes of Petula Clark.

He said: “I love the story of the Hollywood musical, how it’s developed from the very beginning. The songs I perform will be interspersed with lots of fascinating stories and anecdotes about the films and the people in them. I can’t wait to share my love of the musical with the Beccles audience.”

Tickets are available for Keith James, The Music of Yusef – Cat Stevens, on Sunday, May 5, and Mad About Movies with Robert Habermann on Saturday, May 11. Both start at 7.30pm.
