Local charity Harleston Information Plus has been awarded a Norfolk County Council Living Well Fund grant to launch a new service to help jobseekers gain qualifications and work skills.

Julie Helsby from Harleston Information Plus explains ‘Employers often want employees who have qualifications and work experience and this makes life very difficult for people looking for their first job or for those who are returning after a break. This scheme offers jobseekers free training and work experience in Harleston. We will be focusing on customer service and catering with voluntary work experience in a variety of settings.’

The charity is currently recruiting a project coordinator and hopes to launch the scheme on 1st June 2013.

Anyone who would like to know more should contact Julie Helsby 01379 851920 or visit the Harleston Jobs Club Wednesday 10am-2pm or 16-24 Jobs Club Thursday 12-2pm, both at the information centre, 8 Exchange Street, Harleston.
