NNUH 100 Sportive

Hundreds of cyclists braved scorching temperatures on Sunday to take part in this year’s NNUH 100 Sportive, the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital’s charity bike ride.

Complete novices lined up alongside more experienced cyclists to tackle the NNUH 100 Sportive, choosing 100, 60 or 30-mile routes, all of which followed sections of the Tour of Britain and the Women’s Tour, starting and finishing at the hospital on Colney Lane.

The 100-mile route was particularly gruelling on what was one of the hottest days of the year so far with many cyclists on the roads for more than 10 hours.NNUH 100 Sportive

Fundraising manager Louise Cook said: “ We would like to thank everyone who turned up to take part or support the cyclists on the day, and in particular Push Sport for organising the fantastic event.

“The thousands of pounds raised through entries and sponsorship will go to various projects in the hospital all of which ultimately benefit our patients.”
