Seachange Arts launch a t-shirt design competition to celebrate the 10th Out There Festival

SeaChange Arts have launched a competition to design the official t-shirt for the 2017 Out There Festival which returns to Great Yarmouth for the weekend of 16 & 17 September.

The circus and street arts extravaganza has become one of the country’s leading outdoor arts festivals and features a host of international acts in and around the town’s St. George’s Park.

“2017 will be the tenth Out There,” explained SeaChange’s Communication’s Director Darren Cross. “The festival t-shirt is always popular and the anniversary seemed a great thing to celebrate with a special t-shirt.  We want to throw open the design to artists, designers and creative fans of the festival.”

Billed as The Great Out There T-shirt Competition, entrants must be aged 16 years or above.  Submitted designs should capture the essence of the Out There Festival and feature the number 10, in recognition of its tenth year.  The winning entrant will be selected by a panel of judges and turned into the official festival T-shirt to be sold at this year’s event.

The winner will receive £200, some exclusive festival privileges and will see their T-shirt design worn by hundreds of festival goers.

Norwich based ESP Merchandise are supporting the competition.  ESP owner, Andrew Biss lives in Great Yarmouth.  “I visit the festival every year.  It’s a fantastic event, full of amazing creative talent.  We’re really proud to support this tenth festival and are looking forward to seeing some more exciting talent reflected in the t-shirt designs.”

The Out There Festival regularly attracts audiences of 50,000 and brings together leading UK and international circus and street arts performers, community events, workshops and locally produced food and drink. This year’s event will feature artists from the UK, France, Germany, Spain and beyond.

The tenth anniversary of the festival is one of a trio of anniversaries in 2017 being celebrated under the title of 10.20.150.  Seachange themselves celebrate 20 years as a charity, while it is also the 150th birthday of their venue, The Drill House.
