Travelling for 3 days, covering over 300 miles, battling stormy seas to be blown over the North Sea, a Discover Norwich app balloon finally came to rest on a picturesque beach on the small German island of Borkum.
Discovered by the Demes-Augustin family on Sunday 24 August 2014 whilst holidaying on the island, they were amazed by their discovery that the Discover Norwich app balloon had travelled so far.
“Our kids (aged 5-12) were very happy about the ‘Discovery’ and we would have loved the thought of making a child happy that their balloon made it all the way over the stormy North Sea! We send you all the best wishes to Great Britain” said Eva Demes-Augustin.
The balloon started its journey from outside The Forum as part of an event to promote the free to download Discover Norwich app.
Stefan Gurney, Executive Director of Norwich Business Improvement District said, “It’s great to hear that the message about the Discover Norwich app has made it all the way to the lovely shores of Germany. To thank the family for taking the time to let us know about their discovery we will be sending a small package of Norwich based goodies and information to help them discover more about our fabulous Norwich.
The Discover Norwich app is an exciting initiative from Norwich BID and is packed full of useful information for anyone coming to Norwich, whether visiting for the first time or for those who already live and work in this fine city.
We can promote your business every week on the Iceni Post!
