Health and Wellbeing £600,000 arriving in Suffolk to support local communities
Residents of the wards of Gainsborough (Ipswich), Haverhill South and Kirkley (Lowestoft) have each formed a “People’s Forum” to identify common concerns, strengths and opportunities within their neighbourhoods. They will be working with Community Action Suffolk to support their respective communities to access this funding and take local action. The Trust, which works with HealthIntend society lottery to raise money through The Health Lottery, requires local organisations to support local people to take control of the design, development and delivery of the local initiatives.

Community Action Suffolk has secured £600,000 from People’s Health Trust to support the three local communities in Suffolk.
Bressingham Steam & Gardens near Diss, home of the national Dad’s Army Collection, invites you to step back in time and enjoy the sights and sounds of the 1940s on Saturday, May 9 and Sunday, May 10, 10.30am to 5pm. There is also a special 1940s dance, with Ipswich based Swing Machine Big Band, on the Saturday evening from 7.30pm.
The eleventh year of the Harleston and Waveney Art Trail will be taking place in North Suffolk and South Norfolk on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th May and the Bank Holiday weekend of Saturday 23rd to Monday 25th May, 11am to 6 pm.
Active Norfolk’s next evening for volunteers is set for Tuesday June 9 in Norwich. The evening is free of charge and will involve training workshops as well as a chance to play some sport.
