The Clash (Bury ’78) Revisited
On 14 July 1978, John Hessenthaler, against all local authority opposition, promoted The Clash at Bury St Edmunds Corn Exchange. The support was The Coventry Automatics, later to become The Specials. Now, 40 years on London Calling will recreate The Clash and play the set list performed in 1978 and The Specials Ltd will perform classic Specials’ songs.

Dougie MacLean
Distinguished Scottish singer-songwriter who has developed a unique blend of lyrical, ‘roots based’ songwriting and instrumental composition.
MacLean’s songs have been covered by the likes of Paolo Nutini, Amy MacDonald and Ronan Keating. His song ‘Caledonia’ has become one of Scotland’s most popular contemporary songs and his music has been used in films (eg Last of the Mohicans, T2 Trainspotting), TV Drama (eg BBC’s A Mug’s Game) and he’s been the subject of three BBC TV music documentaries. Dougie has received numerous gold discs, a Lifetime Achievement Award from BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and an OBE in the New Year Honours list.

NYO Jazz
The first-ever European concert by Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Jazz Orchestra of the USA. Formed just this year at New York’s Carnegie Hall, and directed by renowned trumpeter Sean Jones, NYO-USA comprises some of America’s most outstanding young jazz musicians aged 16 to 19. The band will showcase American music for big band, from Basie and Ellington to today’s jazz greats, and will be joined by five-time Grammy Award winner, Dianne Reeves, whose virtuosity and improvisational prowess will bring unique jazz and R&B stylings to classic numbers.
