Miloš: The Voice of the Guitar

Thu 3 Oct, 7.30pm

Showcasing the unique voice of the classical guitar through the works and musicians that defined it.

Whilst the names of some of the composers in this programme may be unfamiliar, the music will often be much better known. Miloš’s classical training at the Royal Academy of Music will be reflected with familiar pieces. Andrés Segovia was a particular influence on Miloš and the latter part of the programme demonstrates his subsequent devotion to the music of Latin America and the expansion of the technical and expressive qualities of the instrument. Concluding the programme, Miloš showcases his latest project with the music of the Beatles.

Come Dance With Me

A warm-hearted poignant family saga with ballroom and Hollywood-era dancing!

The show is based on the true story of two battling sisters: Lillian wants to be a professional dancer and Joy wants to own a string of shops. They both have dreams, but who will get what they want?

This dark but funny play spans 1938 to 1951, including the tumultuous years of the Second World War, as the two young girls go through extraordinary circumstances and challenges in their quest for a better life

The show features show-stopping Strictly Ballroom dances and glorious Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers style routines, expertly choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing’s Richard Marcel, who has worked with Madonna, Kylie, Britney, and Olivia Colman, to name but a few.

The Music of Aretha Franklin: The Queen of Soul

Aretha Franklin was one of the best-selling musical artists of all time, having sold more than 75 million records worldwide and was the most charted female artist in history with 112 singles on Billboard. She won 18 Grammy Awards, including the first eight awards given for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance from 1968 through to 1975.

Nicole Henry, one of the most sensational New York based US soul & jazz singers, returns to the UK, the scene of her two sold out shows opening the 2017 London Jazz Festival to perform the music of Aretha Franklin with a great 6-piece band.

Budapest Café Orchestra

Led by jazz violinist Christian Garrick The Budapest Café Orchestra play traditional folk and gypsy flavoured music from across the Balkans and Russia – Klezmer, Romanian Doinas, Hungarian Czadas and beautiful ballads, including the theme to Schindler’s List.
