Grow Your Own Oak Tree

It’’s Grow Your Own Oak Tree Week at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, South Walsham from Saturday 22 October to Sunday 30 October, daily 10am to 5pm. Head into the garden and forage for your own acorn, then take it away in a recycled pot filled with Fairhaven leaf soil.

On Saturday 22 October, there are two Fungi Forays from 10.30am to 12.30pm and 2pm to 4pm. Find out how to identify death caps from deceivers with fungi expert Dr Tony Leech on a foray in the woodland garden. Foray tickets are £6.50 adult, £5.90 concessions and £3.75 child. Booking is essential, sorry no dogs allowed.  Additional tearoom offer to foragers: mushroom soup, roll and a pudding for £6 per person.

Then on, Wednesday 26 October it’s Bird Day with the RSPB, from 11am to 3pm. Help give nature a home in your garden this winter, by making a bird café with the RSPB.

This is followed  on Saturday 29 October with Hedgehog Day run by Hodmedod’s Hedgehog Support, 11am to 3pm. Come along and learn how you can help hedgehogs this winter

The garden is open daily all year from 10am to 5pm (closed Christmas Day and closes 4pm in the winter). Garden entry is £6.50 adult, £5.90 concessions, £3.75 child (under 5 free). Free entry to tearoom, gift shop and plant sales. Boat trips run from April to the end of October (additional charge).

There is wheelchair access throughout the garden, including a Sensory Garden and an accessible boat. Visitors requiring special facilities are advised to telephone in advance, mobility scooters available.

Dogs are welcome on leads; small charge to cover poop scoop.
