A dozen or so of East Suffolk’s most talented young performers will have the chance to demonstrate their skills at Southwold Summer Theatre on Sunday 25 August at 7pm.

They are among the 27 performing arts students who have been recipients of FESPA Bursaries over the past five years.  FESPA (Friends of East Suffolk Performing Arts) is a charity best known for its support of the Southwold and Aldeburgh Summer Theatres. But it is also an active sponsor of new local talent across the spectrum of the performing arts. Since 2008  FESPA has awarded bursaries worth £22,500 to help deserving students finance their training.

The first ever FESPA Showcase will be an evening of chat, music, song, drama and dance hosted by FESPA chairman, Sidi Scott who is well known to Summer Theatre audiences. The exact programme mix has still to be finalised but the audience can expect, ballet, hip-hop, oboe, circus skills, poetry, cello and musical theatre at the very minimum!

The Summer Theatre Company have generously offered the use of their stage for the night as well as providing the bar and ticketing facilities.

Seats are unallocated and all tickets are £10.

They are available now from the Summer Theatre Box Office. St Edmund’s Hall, Cumberland Road, Southwold IP18 6JP.

Telephone: 01502 722572.

Cheques are payable to ‘FESPA’ and postal applications should be accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope.

Alternatively collect in person Monday – Friday: 11am – 4pm and 6pm – 9pm, Saturday: 11am – 3pm and 4pm – 9pm.
