Film @ the Hall will make a welcome return to Beccles Public Hall on Thursday 13 September at 2pm to 4.05pm when the Hall team is delighted to screen Darkest Hour (cert PG).

For all those who missed this incredible portrayal of Winston Churchill at the cinemas by multi-award winning actor, Gary Oldman, or would simply like to watch it again, we invite you to Film @ the Hall! said a Hall spokesperson.

A thrilling and inspiring true story at the precipiece of World War II as, within days of becoming Prime Minister of Great Britian, Winston Churchill must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials: exploring a negotiated peaty with Nazi Germany or standing firm to fight for the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.

Churchill’s darkest hour is Gary Oldman’s finest. Gripping, touching, amusing and enlightening, his performance is the prime reason this film must be seen – but not the only one. Dan Jolin, Empire
