 IN BETWEEN (15)

Unfortunately, the screening of IN BETWEEN this Monday 22 January has been cancelled.  The date of the film?s release for non-cinematic audiences in venues such as the Fisher Theatre has been put back.  IN BETWEEN will be shown later in the year.

Apologies for any inconvenience or disappointment caused.

The film follows the lives of three young and independently minded Israeli-Palestinian women who share a flat in Tel Aviv.  Away from their families and enforced tradition, they find themselves in between the unfettered lives they aspire to lead and the restrictions still imposed on them by their country and their families.  Nigel Andrews of the Financial Times describes IN BETWEEN as ‘sassily directed and terrifically acted.  The main virtue of this fizzy, fierce, sometimes funny girls-together gig is that the actresses are “on” throughout’

Directed by Maysaloun Hamoud.  Israel/France 2017.  103 minutes.  In Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles.  Admission £5 and £3 (film club members only, no other concessions).

The film club returns on Monday 29 January at 7.30pm with

‘A strong contender for feel-good film of the year’.  David Hughes in Empire.

Directed by Hannes Holm.  Sweden 2015.  116 minutes.  In Swedish and Persian with English subtitles.
