There are two great films planned for Thursday 27 October at Beccles Public Hall. You can catch Florence Foster Jenkins in the afternoon and Jungle Book 2016 in the evening.

Florence Foster Jenkins

Matinee 2pm (doors open at 1.30pm) Based on an astonishing true story, starring Meryl Streep, Hugh Grant and Simon Helberg, and directed by Stephen Frears (The Queen, Philomena), this is the hilarious and inspiring Florence Foster Jenkins and it tells the inspirational true story of the eponymous New York heiress who obsessively pursued her dream of becoming a great singer.

The film celebrates the human spirit, the power of music and the passion of amateurs everywhere.

Jungle Book (2016)

Evening 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm)When Bagheera the Panther finds baby Mowgli in the Indian jungle, abandoned and vulnerable, he passes him over to a pair of Wolves who raise him as one of their own. Little did they know that Shere Khan the Tiger’s return to the Jungle many years later, would mean Mowgli having to leave the jungle for his own safety. Watch as Bagheera and Baloo the Bear try to convince Mowgli to re-join human civilisation in this Disney Classic, based on Rudyard Kipling’s novel, The Jungle Book.
