The popular and highly acclaimed Wingfield Barns Concert Series continues on Sunday 29th May with a concert from Italian maestro of the piano and international heart-throb Francesco Attesti.

Francesco Attesti (Cortona, June 6, 1975) is an Italian pianist of international acclaim, considered one of the finest interpreters of the Romantic and early Twentieth Century Repertoire.

He will be performing at Wingfield Barns, 3.30pm on Sunday 29 May, with a varied programme including Pescetti, Scarlatti, Rossini, Verdi, Chopin, Liszt, Bach and Satie.

He began practising the piano at the age of 6 and gave his first concert at 11, performing a transcription of the Toccata and Fugue in D minor by J S Bach.

When he was 16, Francesco was invited to attend the Summer Masterclass at the Mozarteum of Salzburg. There he was immersed in the Romantic repertoire. He continued to study for several years in Rome, refining his skills and winning several national and international piano competitions.

In 1998, studying at the L. Cherubini Conservatory of Florence, Francesco earned the highest grades in piano bestowed by that institution.

Currently, he performs regularly in internationally prestigious concert halls like: Philharmonia Hall of Saint Petersburg, Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Moscow, Mozarteum of Salzburg, Philharmonie Essen, International Piano Festival of Warsaw, Sarajevo Winter Festival, Cambridge University, Columbia University in New York, Denver University in Colorado, and the Conservatory G. Verdi in Milan.

“He was a master during his piano solos. Attesti seems to relish pieces of extraordinary difficulty, playing with confidence and passion that charms the most demanding critics and concert-goers around the world…” – Lake City Journal 2006 FL, USA – Karl Burkhardt.
