Suffolk Artlink have announced a free dance event taking place next Friday 3rd May as part of ‘Make, Do & Friends’, their creative programme for older people living in Suffolk’s rural towns and villages.
On Friday 3rd May at 1.30pm, the arts charity welcome you to enjoy a performance of ‘A Little Bit of Light’ by Glass House Dance at Lavenham Village Hall.
Lynn Whitehead, Suffolk Artlink Project Officer, explains: “Through music and dance, ‘A Little Bit of Light’ tells the story of two women entering an attic looking for a very special box. As they search among the lost props of family history, they discover a little bit of light and a touch of magic.
“The performance is an enchanting, uplifting and gentle voyage of understanding the importance of things lost and found.
“As well as enjoying this beautiful work, you’ll also get the chance to take part in some table-craft activities and the Rural Coffee Caravan will be providing tea and cake to fuel a bit of socialising!”
Tickets are free, but booking is necessary. To book, please call DanceEast on 01473 295230 or visit www.danceeast.co.uk.
As well as the performance, ‘Make, Do & Friends’ offers free creative get-togethers for older residents in rural towns and villages in Mid-Suffolk.
The next series of workshops take place in Horham starting on Thursday 25th April. Each event will offer older residents a chance to enjoy creative activities including print-making, felt making and ceilidh dancing, in a friendly and social setting.
The Make, Do and Friends project runs for two years. Together with the Rural Coffee Caravan and DanceEast, Suffolk Artlink will be bringing events and creative get-togethers to village halls and community centres in the villages and towns of Mid-Suffolk and Babergh until August 2020.
