Round of the summer by going wild at Fairhaven Woodland and Water Garden, South Walsham, at the Big Wild Day on Wednesday 31 August, 11am to 3pm.

The Big Wild Day features storytelling in the yurt, with tales of native creatures, face painting, crafts, bug hunting and den building.

Jon Tyler from Wild for Woods is running hedge crafts including rush rafts, elder stem caterpillars, fluttering butterflies, birch wristbands and nettle and raffia bracelets.

David Carr from Wild Touch is bringing a selection of native creatures to hold and Vicky Eyles of Wild4Adventure is running Hapa Zome sessions, the Japanese art of transferring natural pigments from plants onto fabric.

Make badger masks and finger puppets with Norfolk Badger Protection Group and the Broads Authority will also be running nature activities.

The event is included in the garden entry charge: £6.50 adult, £5.90 concessions, £3.65 child (under 5 free).

Boat trips will also be running on the day (additional charge).

The garden is open daily all year from 10am to 5pm (closed Christmas Day), and on Wednesdays until 9pm to the end of August, free entry to tearoom, gift shop and plant sales.

There is wheelchair access throughout the garden, including a Sensory Garden and an accessible boat for trips on the broad to the end of October (additional charge). Visitors requiring special facilities are advised to telephone in advance, mobility scooters available.

Dogs are welcome on leads; small charge to cover poop scoop.
