Bungay Rotary

VERY BIG THANK YOU

As usual each Christmas time the Rotary Club of Bungay hold their annual Street Collection, on the 19th December 2009 they took the advantage of the warmth inside the Rainbow Store, and on Christmas Eve morning moved into colder climates standing on the towns very busy streets, with the traditional Barrel Organ playing Christmas Carols.

Once again the public and residents of the town have been so generous.

Past President Eric Williams and who is the current Community Service Chairman and this year arranged the collection commented “I wish to say a real BIG THANK YOU to the public and towns people of Bungay who gave so well to our collection, it was also so nice to have so many people stop and chat talking of the old times which bought a lot of cheer within the total of six hours collection.

Eric said he is very pleased to announce the total collected was £542.69, so well done everyone.

The money raised this year has been put into the current fund towards the Sandra Chapman Cancer Unit at James Paget Hospital.

This fund is the chosen charity picked by the present Club President Rotarian Terry Reeve, and during his term of office there are many fund raising events taking place, so it will be nice to present a large cheque from Bungay Rotary to the Unit.

Community Service Chairman Eric also wishes to thank the Manager and Staff of the Rainbow Store Bungay
for their help and allowing space for the collectors, and of course thanks to all the Bungay Rotarians who as normal gave their valued time..

Many Thanks
