Health and Care Centre – Exhibition 2013

How you can help shape our future services

Following the unavoidable postponement of this event last September, Halesworth Health is now ready to share its plans to safeguard and develop health and social care services provided from the Patrick Stead/Rayner Green/ Cutlers Hill site. We need local people to come forward to see our vision and tell us what they think.

Halesworth Health is a charity created by four founding partners – Cutlers Hill Surgery, Halesworth Community Nursing Care Fund, The League of Friends of the Patrick Stead Hospital and Community First Responders.  Halesworth Town Council is also represented, and there is a project group looking at the proposals. Members of the project group are drawn from community groups, local politicians, Waveney District Council, Suffolk Adult and Community Services, Health East and the current provider of NHS community health services, East Coast Community Healthcare.

Working with our partners, Halesworth Campus Ltd, we now hope to link health and care with housing, sports and other wellbeing services planned for Halesworth on land adjacent to the Cutlers Hill Surgery.  Our plans include the potential purchase of an adjacent site for a superb new community health and care centre which could provide a range of health and social care services in the future including outpatient services, minor injuries treatment, intermediate care, day care, respite care, dementia services, end of life care and long term nursing and social care.  A Very Sheltered Housing scheme is also being considered.

It has always been the aim of Halesworth Health to keep our key services all on one site, giving people access to a range of high quality care close to home – helping to reduce the need for treatment at and admission to district hospitals. We are employing consultants and architects to help us draw up a vision of what a new Halesworth Health and Care Centre might look like and we will be holding an exhibition that gives local people a chance to comment.

The exhibition will be held at the Rifle Hall on Tuesday 15th January 2013 from 1pm to 6pm and on Wednesday 16th January between 4pm and 7pm.  On the 16th members of the project team will be available to answer questions.

Please note: there is disabled access at the Rifle Hall but no disabled toilet facilities.
