Mickey Hutton (MC)
Newcastle born Mickey Hutton started his performing career as a musician, playing guitar in the wonderful world of the northern working men’s clubs. He moved to London to do session work and released two singles with his band Strength on BMG Arista which flopped harder than a fat bloke in the baths. It was then he discovered the Comedy Store and decided to try his hand at stand up comedy. He became so successful at this he gave up his career in music and started touring the country as a comedian.
Josh Howie
Josh is an ex-public schoolboy, raised as a Buddhist who then trained as a Rabbi before being kicked off the programme for being caught with a naked (non-Jewish) girl, so perhaps it was inevitable that he would go on to become a stand-up comedian. Josh integrated these stories into his hugely successful debut solo Fringe stand up show, entitled Chosen which played to sell out audiences and received rave reviews at the 2008 Edinburgh Festival. In August 2010 he returned to the Edinburgh Fringe with a brand new show based on his time living with his grandmother entitled Josh Howie: Gran Slam.
Mitch Benn
Mitch is a regular writer and performer on “The Now Show” for BBC Radio 4 and “It’s Been a Bad Week” for BBC Radio 2. Three series of his successful Radio 4 show, “Mitch Benn’s Crimes Against Music” have been broadcast so far. He also presents “The Mitch Benn Music Show” on BBC Radio 7.
Nathan Caton
Caton’s first Edinburgh show in 2009 entitled Can’t Tell Me Nothin’ got him rave reviews from critics including The Guardian, EdFest and Three Weeks and earned him guest writing spots with BBC Radio. A year later he took his second show to the festival Breakfast At Stephanie’s. Nathan now continues to gig around the country and is also working on his own BBC Radio 4 series based on his successful debut Edinburgh show.
