Adults with learning disabilities from Bury, Lowestoft and Ipswich exhibit work inspired by the human body at La Tour Cycle Cafe

Arts charity, Suffolk Artlink, are inviting you to a free arts exhibition featuring work inspired by the human body created by Suffolk artists with learning disabilities.

Taking place at La Tour Cycle Cafe in Ipswich from Wednesday 11th July, the exhibition is the culmination of a 15-week course that offers adults with learning disabilities in Ipswich, Lowestoft and Bury St Edmunds the chance to enjoy exploring different art forms, led by professional artists.

During the past few months, students of Suffolk Artlink’s JumpstART arts course have been inspired by the fascinating world of the human body. The exhibition features a selection of work by students from across the county and includes drawing and painting, textiles and sculpture.

The exhibition takes place at La Tour Cycle Cafe in Ipswich, and begins with a public launch event at the Cafe on Wednesday 11 July, 1.30pm – 3.30pm, to which everyone is welcome.

Fran Speight, Project Development Officer for Suffolk Artlink said: “We’ve had a fantastic time exploring the human body this term. With the support of a wide variety of professional artists, our students have made some beautiful pieces – they are really looking forward to sharing them with you.”

JumpstART student, Ben, said: “It’s been really good on the course. I wish I could do it all over again.”

Lucy, a JumpstART student in Lowestoft, added: “I love the exhibitions. It’s hard work putting them on but I like people seeing my work.”

The exhibition is free to attend. No booking required.
