Ray Simmons’ Jazz Trumpet event aims to entertain and inform. Ray is a former principle trumpeter with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently much in demand on the regional classical and jazz scene. He, together with colleagues Phil Brooke (guitar & banjo) and Mark Adams (string bass) are ideally place to demonstrate the many facets of the jazz trumpet from the ebullience of ‘Satchmo’ Louis Armstrong to the dark textures of Miles Davies’ playing.
