Art Fair East

The deadline for submissions to Art Fair East, which runs from 30 November to 2 December at St Andrews Hall, Norwich is rapidly approaching and artists from all over the eastern region are being urged to apply to take part.

The fair is the region’s largest and liveliest contemporary visual arts events, of a type rarely seen outside London. It brings together artists, galleries and dealers from the UK and overseas, including a large contingent of talented artists from across the east of England who will have the opportunity to exhibit alongside work by world famous artists which in previous years have included Damien Hirst and Banksy.

There is still time for artists to apply to take part in the prestigious event by completing the online application form at www.artfaireast.com, where full details are available. The organisers also invite applications from established art dealers, galleries, artists and collectives to show contemporary art of all types. This includes painting, sculpture, glasswork, drawing, photography, video art, installation, performance and original limited edition prints. Only one-off original or limited edition craft artworks will be considered for inclusion. Digital reproductions, mass produced items and similar will not be accepted. Submission close at midnight on 31 October.

Many of last year’s exhibitors were so delighted with the response to their stands that they rebooked for 2018 almost immediately. Established exhibitors confirmed to date include London’s Underdog Gallery, and, for the first time, East London Printmakers will be taking a stand. Individual artists confirmed so far include exhibitors from around the country and from as far away as Lebanon. Celebrated Norfolk artist Lucy Loveheart who has sold work to Marks & Spencer, Kew Gardens, The National Trust and Blenheim Palace amongst others will be showing at the fair.

Jo Mullins of Norfolk’s Heart of Glass gallery from Norwich based Gallery said ‘We have had a stand at Art Fair East since the start and it just keeps getting better. There is always a wide selection of art on sale to suit all tastes and budgets and a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere making it easy for visitors to browse and purchase. The timing of the fair also gives opportunity to purchase some unique Christmas gifts too!.’

Art Fair East is organised by Norfolk based art professionals Will Teather and Brian Korteling. Will said ‘We have already had a fantastic range of submissions of high quality contemporary art, from across the UK and overseas but we want to make our selection process as tough for ourselves as possible! We are always especially keen hear from new artists based in the Eastern region. Art Fair East aims to showcase the best the art-world has to offer to a wide audience of collectors, art professionals and the general public.’

Now established as a regular feature in the annual art calendar, Art Fair East showcases a curated selection of quality galleries, dealers and artists and brings a slice of the art-world to both seasoned and new art lovers. It has become a prestigious signature addition to Norwich’s Christmas shopping experience and offers visitors a great chance to expand an existing art collection, start their own journey into collecting or buy original and authentic Christmas presents for loved ones.
