The last days of Summer welcomes eight very different and contrasting gardens opening for Norfolk NGS. They cover the full garden spectrum with formal topiary, burgeoning flower borders, arboretum through to the wildly exotic and even vertical gardens!
Sunday September 2nd
FELBRIGG HALL Fellbrigg NR11 8PR. A well known National Trust restored walled garden with everything from flower displays to fruit and vegetable demonstration borders. Don’t miss the National collection of Autumn crocus.
Sunday 9th September
At BRADENHAM HALL Bradenham , IP25 7QP the well established arboretum of over 800 tree species will be starting to show Autumn colours and berries. This is the place to research trees for your own garden and to see what they will look like full size!
Sunday 16th September
THE URBAN JUNGLE GARDENS Old Costessey NR8 5BG is a well known nursery for exotic and unusual plants and features many of these in the attached gardens. New for 2012 is a prairie style area featuring grasses and late flowering perennials. Children will marvel at the enormous Koi carp in the greenhouse ponds!!
Wednesday 19th September
LEXHAM HALL nr Litcham PE32 2QJ offers some lovely parkland, woodland and riverside walks in peaceful surroundings. There is a superb example of a crinkle crankle walled garden complete with a fascinating range of plants to peruse.
Saturday 6th October
EAST RUSTON OLD VICARAGE East Ruston NR12 9HN One of the finest gardens in the UK has some fabulous Autumn displays with Hydrangeas a particular feature.
Saturday 13th October
BLICKLING HALL Aylsham NR11 6NF Rounds off the season with the new wilderness area, a valuable addition to this renowned garden which first opened
for the NGS in 1927.
