The new ‘Chantry Journeys’ walking book group is being launched this month in Ipswich.

The aim is to encourage library users to get out and about to explore the local area. Anyone wanting to take part can read a suggested book and then discuss it on a family-friendly walk beginning and ending at Chantry Library on Hawthorn Drive.

The walks will take place on the last Sunday of the month. The first walk is on Sunday 27 April 2014 from 1.30pm and will head to Spring Wood on a 2.5 mile walk which will hopefully include bluebells. The first book to be discussed is The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry by Rachel Joyce which can be picked up at the library. There will also be an observation quiz for children.

There is a £2 cost to take part or £1 for children and this includes refreshments. Saxmundham Library also launched a similar walking book group last year.

Please call Chantry Library for more details on 01473 260880.
