It may still be Summer season and incredibly busy in the coastal village of Burnham Deepdale, but thoughts are already turning to Christmas. Preparations for the Deepdale Christmas Market are going well.

All the stall spaces for the Deepdale Christmas Market have been filled. That’s over 40 stalls, who will join the permanent shops of Dalegate Market and Deepdale Café, welcoming visitors on the first weekend of December. Great food & drink, Christmas decorations & presents, plenty of festive spirit!

“I’ve had some very strange looks from people when I’ve dropped off leaflets about the Christmas Market, but we want visitors to know the market is happening, so they can plan their return visit in December. It does seem a little strange mentioning Christmas when campers are enjoying the summer sun, but events like Deepdale Christmas Market don’t happen without a lot of pre planning.” said Jason Borthwick, one of the organising team.

Now the hunt begins for entertainment over the weekend. Hunstanton Concert Band are already booked for Christmas Carols on the Saturday from 2pm to 4pm. St Mary’s Carollers, from the village church, will be joining the band and supplying carol sheets for anyone who fancies a sing-a-long. There’s also a possibility that the local school choir will be performing during the weekend.

The team are keen to hear from any groups or individuals who might be interested in entertaining the visitors at Deepdale Christmas Market.

Deepdale Christmas Market takes place on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December 2011 at Dalegate Market in Burnham Deepdale on the beautiful north Norfolk coast. The market opens at 10am on both days and closes at 4pm. Full details of the event can be found on the website: www.deepdalechristmasmarket.co.uk
