Lowestoft’s Easter ‘Eggstravaganza’ and a chance to win £10K!

Lowestoft Town Centre is hosting a special Easter family fun day on Saturday 23 April with a host of free activities taking place in London Rd North plus a chance to win £10,000 at The Britten Centre. The Easter weekend also sees the culmination of Palmers Department Store’s Spring Fashion Festival and a host of family events at the Marina Theatre.

The fun commences at 11am and a host of free family activities will be in London Rd North including inflatable’s, bouncy castle, bungee run, balloon blaster and music. Meanwhile inside the Britten Centre there is a chance to win £10,000 in a special, free to enter ‘Crack the Safe’ promotion and the Easter Bunny will be visiting handing out free chocolate to children.

The Marina Theatre hosts family film A Turtle’s Tale (U) at 2.30 on Saturday 23 and a special evening of Glenn Miller music at 7.30 on Easter Sunday. The popular Spirit Of The Dance returns to Lowestoft on Easter Monday with performances at 2.30 & 7.30.

With the Easter break and Royal Wedding at the end of April the town centre is also being decorated in red, white & blue bunting for the occasion. On Good Friday, Palmers Department Store are holding a special Easter cake prize draw with discounts available on menswear, on Easter Saturday there will be modelling of new collections in its First Avenue fashion range, again with in store discounts available.

Town Centre Manager, Emma King said “Following the popularity of our Christmas Family Fun Day in December, which despite the snow saw thousands enjoying the free activities laid on, we are delighted to present another free family day for Easter Saturday which coupled with the chance to win £10,000 at the Britten Centre, Fashion Events at Palmers and both film & live entertainment at the Marina Theatre, should prove extremely popular with townsfolk and visitors alike.”

Despite the difficult economic climate, Lowestoft’s thriving retail area continues to buck national trends with over forty major retailers, entertainment at the Marina Theatre, as well as independent stores and a host of cafes and restaurants in which weary shoppers can rest.

The Lowestoft Town Management Partnership events in the town centre have been made possible with the help of donations from local councillors and support from the Marina Theatre and Britten Centre.
