I CAN’T REMEMBER ANYTHING By Arthur Miller

Join us at lunchtime for this wonderful one-act ply by America’s leading dramatist. A gentle, poignant and amusing study of two old friends – Leo and Leonora. He’s a retired draftsman and she’s a wealthy widow.  They’ve been friends for a lifetime, but will memory serve or fail them in the time they have left?  Can they agree on their memories of the past? Can they even agree what to have for lunch? Join Maddermarket stalwarts Judi Daykin and John Hare on this voyage through the shared and disputed recollections of these two not so everyday Americans.

EASTERN ANGLES THEATRE COMPANY Presents

PALM WINE AND STOUT

a moving & magical story full of family secrets Written by acclaimed poet, composer and playwright Segun Lee French this funny and emotional play is based on the writer’s own journey back to a small Nigerian village in search of his father. The story, which focuses on Taiye, a young British man on a quest to find out more about his African heritage, draws some fascinating parallels with English village life. Along the way Taiye meets up with his half-brother, Femi, and a challenging culture clash ensues incorporating music, dance and whole host of entertaining ancestors.

Palm Wine & Stout premiered in 2010 when it received fantastic feedback from audiences and critics. Now Eastern Angles are touring the show to a wider audience.

This play will strike a chord with those familiar with the amusing eccentricities and petty politics of the village!

“Palm Wine & Stout captures the attention and keeps you entranced to the very end”

Jairo Barrull and Manuela Vargas star in…

DOS RAMAS – Flamenco Show

This is quite simply Flamenco at it’s very best and rarely seen outside of Spain.

Those who came to see Jairo Barrull perform at the Maddermarket last year were astounded by the quality of this Flamenco performer and for the 2014 show Jairo is joined by Manuala Vargas, daughter of the great flamenco dancer Isidro Vargas.

Jairo Barrull son of the genius flamenco dancer Ramón Barrull and Manuela Vargas both represent two of the most important gypsy dance dynasties in Seville’s flamenco history to date.  Manuela dances with temperament and Jairo with an unmatched velocity.  Two branches of the old flamenco tree reflect all their gypsy spirit in this show ‘Dos Ramas’.
