National Express East Anglia’s Norwich station played host to a pair of seasonal guests on Thursday 2 December 2010, when Santa’s helpers, the reindeers ‘Prancer’ and ‘Dancer’ made a special guest appearance alongside stars from one of the region’s top pantomimes at the station at 10.30am.

The reindeer took time out of their busy festive schedule to promote the Lowestoft based Marina Theatre’s Christmas pantomime – the classic tale of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – and an exclusive train travel offer with the Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership to the theatre.

The production is a must see for all the family featuring a wonderful star cast, spectacular costumes, stunning scenery and plenty of good old fashioned slapstick and fun! Theatre-goers travelling by train from Norwich to Lowestoft can receive discounted tickets on the majority of performances with up to £3 per seat off the price of Band A & B tickets. The offer is also available to patrons using the East Suffolk Line along the coast via Beccles from Ipswich.

The production star’s BBC television’s Eastenders’ Stefan Booth in the lead role alongside Ipswich actress Victoria Scott as Snow White. School children from Brundall Primary School also came along to welcome ‘Prancer’ and ‘Dancer’ to the station and join Snow White & her dashing Prince in helping to promote the festive initiative.

Peter Lawrence chairman of the Wherry Lines Community Rail Partnership said: “We are pleased to be working with the Marina Theatre and National Express to encourage Norfolk residents to travel by train to the Marina Theatre with the Wherry Lines. Lowestoft station is conveniently situated for the Theatre and makes for a fun-filled family trip out and the children will really enjoy seeing Snow White.”

The Edwardian venue which hosts one of the largest professional pantomimes in the region is situated just a short walk from Lowestoft station enabling patrons travelling by train to avoid traffic congestion and parking fees.

Marina Theatre manager, Martin Halliday said: “Both the Marina Theatre and cast of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs are delighted to be associated with such a worthwhile initiative. As the pantomime grows ever popular it is very important to us that families travelling to Lowestoft are able to come by train and the close proximity of the venue to the railway station means that it only takes a few minutes walk.”
