Both martial art clubs are run independently and are affiliated Nationally to the GTUK (Global Taekwon-do United Kingdom) and Internationally to the ITF (International Taekwon-do Federation) that teaches the Martial Art of Taekwon-do along with some old fashion values: Respect, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self Control, Indomitable Spirit.

Taekwon-do is a Korean self defence martial art that focuses on using explosive blocking, punching and kicking techniques.

Taekwon-do also helps to instil a confidence and inner strength in students for their oncoming challenges of modern day life.

The belt syllabus includes: Fighting Patterns, Techniques, Sparring, Self Defence, Destruction, Korean Terminology. It takes 3-4 years to learn the full syllabus and become a 1st Degree Black Belt.

Both clubs are very family orientated, with many parents training with their children. Youngest students are 5 years old with no upper age limit. The clubs jointly boast well over 100 registered students, including many National Champions each year.

The Bungay Taekwon-do club is run by International instructor, Mr Clinton Gillett 5th Degree, supported by his Black belt team, classes are on Tuesdays 7-8pm and Thursdays 7-8.30pm at Bungay High School, with a special class for school students on Wednesdays 4-5pm.

Mr Gillett also holds the East Jeegoo advanced training for senior belts once every month.

The Beccles Taekwon-do club is run by fully certified Black belt instructors: Mr and Mrs Bedingfield, supported by their team of Black belts. Classes on Mondays and Thursdays 7-8.30pm at the Venue, Beccles Sports Centre.
