TO HELP KEEP YOU UP-TO-DATE

Tickets are £12.50 (Adults), £5 (Children 7-12) with Under 7’s free. Please give David Alexander (01508 530237) or Daphne Beckett (07850 709297) a call if you are interested in attending. You and your family and friends will be very welcome.
2. Olympic Ball – it is many thanks to everyone who supported the Ball and who helped to make it so enjoyable and successful. Our thanks also go to all those who helped with the organisation of the evening with an especially big ‘thank you’ to Philippa Taylor, Jose Tibbenham, Tracy Reeve and Bella Hall who masterminded the event over many months of hard work.
3. Congratulations to:
a) Nick and Jose Tibbenham who celebrated their Silver Wedding Anniversary very recently. Now we know the real reason for holding the Ball!
b) John Pestell who has succeeded Robert Stimpson as clubhouse manager – best wishes John!
4. Annual General Meeting
a) After a good debate at a well attended meeting the following decisions were made relating to match fees, subscriptions and training fees for season 2012/13.
i) Match fees for synthetic grass games to be increased for senior members from £7.50 to £8.50 and for student members (i.e. those in full time education over age 16) and U16 members from £4.50 to £5.00.
ii) Subscriptions to be increased for senior members from £60 to £70, for student members from £40 to £50 and for U16 members from £30 to £40.  Subscriptions to be due on 1 September 2012 and paid by 30 September 2012 and if not paid by the end of October 2012 a levy of £5 to be added and if not paid by the end of December 2012 a levy of £15 to be added.
iii) Training fees – no changes to those applicable in season 2011/12.
b) Please see the relevant sections of the website for the 2012/13 appointments. NB. Volunteers to captain the Men’s 4ths, 6ths and 7ths are still urgently needed. If you are interested please speak to Tristan Baynes (07799 790445). If captains are not forthcoming these teams are in peril.

Chris Whipps was at the AGM to kindly donate a cup in memory of his son Craig who so tragically died last year. We thank Chris and other members of the family for this donation which will ensure the memory of Craig lives on at the club in the years ahead. As Chris said in presenting the cup – to be awarded annually to ‘an unsung club hero’ – there could not have been a more appropriate and deserving first winner than Matt Brand who was both a friend and team-mate of Craig over many years in addition to being such a hard worker for the club.
