Mid-Norfolk Railway is pleased to announce its biggest ever Steam Year
5526 Ltd, based on the South Devon Railway, have agreed to loan their ex Great Western Railway Prarie Tank Locomotive no.5526, to the MNR for the duration of its Summer Steam hauled services.
5526 will be visiting from the end of May, until the end of August.
5526 will be joined by the wonderfully efficient ex GWR design Pannier Tank no.9466, which has visited the MNR previously.
Steam services will start on Saturday June 2nd, running until Sunday 10th June, with 3 return trips daily, as shown on the Blue Timetable.
From Saturday June 2nd until Sunday 10th June, all accompanying children travel for £1; just perfect for a great day out with the kids, during the half term holidays!
Steam services run until Monday, August 27th.
Every Weekend during the School Holidays, the MNR is running 5 steam departures a day from Dereham and Wymondham Abbey. [Purple Timetable or Special Events].
Each Wednesday from 18th July until 22nd August, the MNR will run 3return Steam Hauled trips, from Dereham and Wymondham Abbey.[Blue Timetable]

Every Steam Season Sunday [excepting Special Event days], for a £5 Supplement, we are offering an “At Seat Cream Tea Service” on the last train to depart from Dereham (1530 or 1540 dependent on timetable).
Steam Hauled Fish & Chip Specials are back too – Our popular Fish & Chip trains run with Steam on Saturday, June 16th, Friday July 13th, Saturday July 14th & Saturday August 11th. Diesel hauled dates are 12th May, 15th September and 13th October.
