Happy buyers from recent sale at Costessey at the weekend

Mum2Mum Market Norwich

As the price of raising children increases and the drive to recycle, reuse and reduce landfill gathers momentum a unique series of events aims to help parents and parents to be with this dilemma.

New mum of one, Emma Jones, is expanding the well-known ‘Mum2Mum Markets’ hosting more events across the locality. Mum2mum market nearly new sales provide an opportunity for parents to make money selling on their outgrown baby clothes and equipment to other families at a dedicated event.

Mum2Mum Norwich organiser and first time mum Emma said: “We all know that many toys and clothes are barely worn or played with yet hunting these out at carboot sales and spending hours selling items online can be a chore. The event will bring it all under one roof, in the warm, and be a social event as well as a sale with the opportunity for refreshments and to shop hands free by parking in our buggy park.”

The recent effect of fast fashion is not limited to the adult generation but can be seen in the under 10’s too with many toys discarded soon after opening and some clothes not even being worn before they are outgrown. Mum2Mum Market Nearly New Sales allow parents to sell their preloved high quality items to other parents and parents 2 be at a dedicated sale. The event is to be more than a table top sale with the opportunity to socialise at the dedicated refreshment area whilst allowing buyers to shop hands free by checking their pushchair into the dedicated buggy creche.

Mum2Mum Norwich currently host successful events at the Queens Hill Primary School in Costessey but are now expanding across the region with events planned for Hoveton near Wroxham and North Norfolk.

Emma added: “A lot of the events aimed at parents and parents to be are centred around the city. I understand how difficult it can be to attend events with a young baby and wanted to bring an event that was closer to home meaning more and more people get the opportunity to grab bargains and sell on their items at a dedicated event.”

Each sale has at least 20 mums selling at every mum2mum market meaning there is a huge choice of baby and children’s items for sale.  Goods for sale range from designer prams, furniture and moses baskets to large toys, books, baby equipment and clothes from newborn to six years old.
All the venues are indoors and the sales draw a large crowd with buyers queuing up to half an hour before the sale starts to get the best bargains. The first 100 buyers all receive a goody bag to carry their wears home in.
