NCH&C Healthier Fair. Showcase of services at The Forum

Staff from Norfolk Community Health and Care NHS Trust (NCH&C) will be on hand at a special event next month to show the public the care they provide across the county.

The NCH&C Healthier Fair will also give people the opportunity to take part in some fun and interactive health checks and look around over 30 informative stalls to find out more about NCH&C’s community-based NHS services. These include: community and specialist nursing; specialist rehabilitation; palliative care; diabetes; speech and language therapy, and stop smoking support.

The event on September 24th 2015, at The Forum in Norwich, will be officially opened by the Lord Mayor of Norwich, Councillor Brenda Arthur.

EDP Editor, Nigel Pickover, will be adding his pledge to NCH&C’s Walk of Health, where people are invited to write a promise to improve their health and fitness on specially cut out feet, outside The Forum.

Visitors will also have the chance to meet Agnes the PAT (Pets as Therapy) dog, and will have an opportunity to dress up as a nurse / doctor.

A number of the stalls will offer interactive tests, including the Infection Control team who will be testing people’s hand-washing skills using their ‘glow and tell’ box.

For anyone interested in working with NCH&C, a team from Human Resources will be on hand with information about job opportunities and apprenticeships. NCH&C’s Volunteers Coordinator will also be available to answer questions for those who would like to give some of their spare time to supporting the various services.

There will also be an opportunity to sign up to become a Trust Member and help to shape local healthcare plans for the future by taking part in surveys, workshops and events.

The event starts at 9am and runs until 5pm.
