Maids Head Defibrillator

A new Community Access Public Defibrillator (CAPD) has been installed next to the main entrance of the Maids Head Hotel in Tombland, Norwich.

The family and friends of 18-year-old Tom Pottle, who sadly passed away in January 2017 from cardiac arrest, fundraised in his memory to purchase a lifesaving defibrillator. As a family they decided that they wanted a central location which would serve people of all ages, day and night.

With the help of Andrew Shorthose, Operations Manager at the Maids Head and Andrew Barlow of the East of England Ambulance Service, the application for installation on a listed building was achieved. The green case, in keeping with the environmental aspects of planning, was purchased and the CAPD was installed by TGA Services free of charge. Special thanks go to John Allison for carrying out the surveying and planning permission.

Norwich City centre now has another 24-hour Community Access Public Defibrillator.
