Suffolk Artlink have announced the launch of ‘Make, Do & Friends’, a new creative programme for older people in Suffolk’s rural towns and villages.

The first event sees the arts charity bringing Spilt Milk Dance to Needham Market Community Centre for a performance of their ‘Little Love Cabaret’ on Thursday 18th October.

Lynn Whitehead, Suffolk Artlink project officer, explains: “We’re delighted to announce our very first ‘Make Do & Friends’ event! Expect an afternoon of real life stories of love, and all the things that make life brilliant.

“There’ll be sketches, singing, games, dancing and most importantly, tea and cake!

“You’ll find a warm welcome and the chance for a cuppa and chat with friends and neighbours at our fabulous, feel-good event for older people.”

Tickets to the event are free, and can be booked from project partners, Dance East, by calling 01473 295230 or visiting www.danceeast.co.uk

The Make, Do and Friends project will continue for the next two years. Together with the Rural Coffee Caravan and DanceEast, Suffolk Artlink will be bringing events and creative get-togethers to village halls and community centres in the villages and towns of Mid-Suffolk and Babergh until August 2020.

The project has been made possible by generous funding from Arts Council England, Baring Foundation and Suffolk Community Foundation (Suffolk Rural Fund).
