A HARE FOR HARLESTON
Many people will remember the spectacularly successful GoGoDragons Trail around Norwich in 2015 which brought lots of joy and raised £370,000 for the Norfolk charity, Break. This summer GoGoHares will be taking over the streets of Norwich and 19 special Stargazer Hares will be located around the county between June and September.
Harleston’s Future is leading a campaign to have a Harleston Hare, decorated with swifts and bunting, painted by a local artist, located in the town centre.
It will help put Harleston on the map as there will be a sticker book encouraging people to visit all the hares and Harleston will be featured on the main website and in publicity.
It will also raise money for Break, which helps children at risk or with disabilities by providing children’s homes, fostering service and other support. If you would like to make a donation or help with raising the £5000 required to sponsor a hare please get in touch at [email protected].
The next HF event will be a Spring Fair on Saturday 5th May in the Market Place and Exchange Street (9.30am – 3.30pm). In addition to the stalls selling crafts, plants, produce and street food there will be a treasure hunt around town, face painting, Morris Dancers and Too Many Cooks singing group.
Other delights will be a raffle with amazing prizes, home-made toffee apples and Harleston’s very own upcycled flag bags. To book a stall email [email protected] or call Marilyn on 07896 649002.
