The Flu Fighters 😉

The “Proud to be an NNUH flu fighter” campaign at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital has had a tremendous start.

An amazing 1500 members of NNUH staff were vaccinated in four days, approximately 20 per cent of staff!

The Trust aims for as many staff as possible to benefit from a flu vaccination before Christmas and is providing staff with daily opportunities to have their free flu jab to protect their patients, colleagues and families.

Hilary Winch, Head of Workplace Health, Safety and Wellbeing, said: “We are delighted that so many staff have queued up to get their flu vaccination. It is really important that all members of staff get their jab – it helps protect them, their families and most importantly the patients in our care”.

Twitter and Facebook is buzzing with news about the campaign, which started last Monday and is far exceeding the number vaccinated at the same stage last year.

Hilary added:” “We thought that the TV theme tune competition would be a fun way to remind staff that it’s time to get their jabs before the flu season starts and will help to encourage even more staff to have their vaccinations – we are Proud to be NNUH flu fighters!”

Professor Erika Denton, NNUH Medical Director, said: “We take our duty of care very seriously at NNUH and are encouraging all staff to have their flu jab. It is free and vaccinators are available every day of the week to help protect staff.”
