Norfolk National Garden Scheme Launches NGS JustGiving Page
It is very disappointing for garden owners to have worked tirelessly to prepare a garden to look its best for opening, and then have to cancel due to the Coronavirus pandemic. This misses an opportunity to raise funds for our chosen charities, so to continue our fundraising efforts we have set up a new NGS JustGiving page for Norfolk National Garden Scheme. All donations will come directly to the Norfolk National Garden Scheme to support our health charity beneficiaries. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/norfolk-ngs
To continue fundraising efforts while gardens can’t open, the National Garden Scheme has decided to brighten up the late-winter evenings with a new series of online talks. They can all be found and booked at https://ngs.org.uk/online-events. The events and dates are as follows:
9th February. The allure of snowdrops by Tom Ingram
16th February: My garden journey by Terry Winters, Ordnance House, Wiltshire
2nd March: Twenty years with twenty acres by Simon Cain and Simon Quin.
30th March: Triumphant tulips by Philippa Burrough.
In line with Government guidelines, the National Garden Scheme will continue to exert strict control over access to our gardens while lockdown continues. Just a relatively small number of gardens with appropriate space, will make themselves available to local visitors for exercise. Visitors should check our website for details of gardens that can offer this space.
There are six gardens currently planning to open across Norfolk during March and April. However, these may have to cancel, so visitors must check our website for openings and to book tickets https://ngs.org.uk/find-a-garden. To conform to social distancing rules, entry is by pre-booked tickets only and no refreshments will be available. Entry for children is free.
