As summer reaches its peak, gardens are at their most colourful, and Norfolk NGS has a great selection for you to visit. Here is just a sample of the thirteen gorgeous gardens open during July.

The month gets off to a splendid start on the 2nd July with four fabulous gardens opening for the first time with the NGS at Holme-Next-The-Sea, PE36 6LH. Each has a distinctive style from cottage garden to contemporary; a wealth of design ideas to excite your interest and imagination. Light refreshments and tea is served in the village hall and you can combine a gardens visit with a stroll along the nearby beach on our glorious Norfolk coast!

On the 16th July Castle Acre has two gardens for the price of one! Tudor Lodgings PE32 2AN.The 2 acre garden fronts a C15 house and incorporates part of the Norman earthworks. Mixed planting, a red border and an informal area with a wild life pond, In walking distance and opposite the church is Minns Farm Barns with over an acre of grounds surrounding a stone and flint barn with an exuberance of planting!  Home-made teas will be served at both Tudor Lodgings and in the Church.

Also on Sunday 16th July MANOR FARM at Coston, NR9 4DT makes a welcome return to the scheme. A well designed garden with creative garden rooms full of imaginative plantings which feature roses, herbaceous and shrub borders.

There will be home-made teas but the owners will be delighted if you want to bring a picnic to enjoy in the extensive grounds and so make it a day out for all the family!

On the following weekend the 22nd and 23rd July Dunbeaghan at Westfield near Dereham NR19 1QE has a colourful selection island beds and borders providing a feast for the eyes with many of the plants on view for sale!

Bringing the month to a close on the 30th July  DALE FARM in Dereham NR19 2EA. Is a 2 acre garden where the maximum amount of summer colour can be enjoyed with no less than 21 extensive borders and beds packed with plethora of plants. All set around a ½ acre pond with plenty of places to sit, enjoy home made teas and listen to music provided by a Ronnie Scott’s jazz club regular.
