Pear Tree Fun Charity Race Night
People will be able to enjoy the thrill of cheering their horses to victory during an action-packed race night arranged to raise funds for the Pear Tree Fund.
The Queen’s Head at Bramfield will host the fun-packed evening on Friday 18 February 2022.
As well as picking their favourites and placing their bets, racegoers will also be given the chance to own their own horse for the night while enjoying equine-themed cocktails.
In addition, local businesses have generously donated prizes for a raffle, which include vouchers for Auburn Boutique in Beccles, Everyday’s Sundae in Walberswick, Dynamic Dental and Purple Pumpkin Pottery Studio in Halesworth. Other prizes include a meal for four at the Queen’s Head at Bramfield, ales from Woodfordes Brewery and Norfolk Brewhouse and a hot tub for the weekend, courtesy of Posh Tubs.
The race night is the latest in a line of events that the Queen’s Head has arranged for the Pear Tree Fund, which have included a fashion show, book sale and family quiz. So far, the pub has raised more than £3,000 for the fund after naming it as its chosen charity in 2019.
Kate Wood, owner of the Queen’s Head, said: “We are delighted that we are able to continue supporting the Pear Tree Fund, which does amazing work for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families and carers.
“It has been such a difficult time for charities during the pandemic, so we are keen to do whatever we can to help. We’d like to hear from any businesses which would like to donate a raffle prize, and will give them a big shout out on the evening and our social feeds as a way of saying thank you.
“We would also encourage local people to show their support on the night by coming along, placing a bet or two and enjoying what promises to be a great evening.”
Kevin Vaughan, chief executive of the Pear Tree Fund, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Queen’s Head for the fantastic support they continue to show to our charity. The pub’s race night promises to be a brilliant event and lots of fun, so please do support it if you can.”
The race night takes place at the Queen’s Head on Friday 18 February, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £3, which includes a race card. For more information or to donate a raffle prize, please call Chloe on 01986 784214 or email [email protected]
