There are days when all your hard work comes together in the way you’d hoped.  Today is one of those days, as the first Pop Up Shop at Dalegate Market opens its doors to the public.  Pebbles Photography & Picture Framing, a local company, have taken the challenge to be the first Pop Up Shop and they look forward to welcoming visitors for the next 6 days.

July is a special month at Dalegate Market, because its Independent Retailers Month, a chance to celebrate the great independent retailers who are permanently based at this North Norfolk Coast shopping centre – The Hare & The Hen gallery & craft shop, One Stop Nature Shop, Relish Boutique, Gone Crabbing, Leftleys Supermarket and of course Deepdale Café.

Naturally July is also a good month as the sun shines (fingers crossed) and the school holidays start, but this July Dalegate Market has added something new to the mix, pop up shops, beach hut spaces for independent retailers.  Pebbles Photography & Picture Framing have picked up the gauntlet, opening the first pop up shop this morning.  They will be selling their beautiful photographs & picture frames until Tuesday next week.

“We’ve been regular stall holders at both the Deepdale Christmas Market and Deepdale Outdoor & Wildlife Festival, so we know the Dalegate Market site well and enjoy the atmosphere here.  The opportunity to open the first pop up shop was one we didn’t want to miss.” said Stephen Clark, Pebbles Photography & Picture Framing.  “We’ll also be returning in August and of course again for the Christmas Market in December.”

Pop up shops have been a feature in major cities for a while, and are now slowly seeping into the Norfolk retail scene.  With so many small producers, crafters and artists, Norfolk is a perfect place for pop up shops.  The Dalegate Market pop up shops are available for rent throughout the Summer, for a week at a time, Thursday through to the following Tuesday.

“The shopping experience at Dalegate Market is superb all year round, with lovely shops, friendly staff, free car parking and of course great food & drink at Deepdale Café.  We constantly get requests from other businesses wanting retail space, but until now we could only add them to the waiting list.” said Jason Borthwick, partner of Dalegate Market.  “With the addition of the pop up shops, we can now welcome a few extra businesses each week and its fantastic that our friends from Pebbles Photography & Picture Framing are the first pop up shop.”

Established independent retailers and those wishing to test the market are all welcome to apply for a pop up shop.  Some weeks are completely full, however there are spaces so its not too late to apply.  Full listings of which pop up shops will be at Dalegate Market and details on how to apply are on the website at www.dalegatemarket.co.uk
