The Norwich Original Fleamarket saw record crowds through the door at its February event on Saturday 16th 2013 at St. Andrew’s Halls.
1,400 people attended the event snapping up bargains in antiques, collectables, vintage and retro items from the nearly 100 stalls.
Stallholders come from all over East Anglia and as far afield as Nottingham and London.
Helen Leith, the owner of the fair said “We were absolutely thrilled. We work hard to put on a good show and it is very satisfying to see that hard work rewarded with such a great footfall.   Buyers come from all over, including London and Europe, and they were definitely spending on Saturday.   Almost everyone I spoke to told me they had a great day.”  “It is also very noticeable that more and more young families, fashion and art students and the generally young and trendy visit the fair now.
We have a policy of free entry to the under 18s as we are keen to encourage the next generation of collectors”.
The reputation of the fair continues to grow, with The Norwich Original Fleamarket shortlisted as one of three finalists for the title of ‘Best Vintage Fair’ in the Vintage Norwich 2013 Awards, to be announced on 11 March.
